Water Reclamation Centers (WRCs)
South River
Improvements to the South River WRC in southeast Atlanta included
new sand filters which help -- in conjunction with other improvements
in preliminary, primary, biological, and solids treatment facilities
-- to maintain phosphorus levels to within or below State standards.
In addition, new odor control technology that reduces odors
in surrounding communities has been installed. A disinfection
system that uses chlorination/dechlorination to kill microscopic
bacteria is in place. Overall
improvements at this plant are complete.
