Water Reclamation Centers (WRCs)
Intrenchment Creek
The Intrenchment Creek WRC is located in southeast Atlanta/Dekalb
County. Improvements to this smaller capacity WRC included:
- upgrade of the effluent pump station to increase its capacity
to transfer treated wastewater to the South River WRC for
further processing during wet weather conditions;
- installation of standby diesel generators for use during
emergencies;
- modernization of the high- and medium- voltage electrical
and instrumentation systems, including the plant's control
computer, to improve operational reliability and efficiency
of the WRC;
- installation of a reuse water system to enable treated effluent
to be utilized for washdown and other non-potable uses; and
- rehabilitation of the WRC's influent screening equipment
and digester gas handling systems.
