Mayor Franklin Issues Statement on today's Fulton County Commission
Vote against Consideration of a SPLOST
In response to the 5 - 1 vote of the Fulton County Commission
to
refuse consideration of a referendum on a SPLOST, Mayor Franklin
said, "This is the second time in one year that the Fulton
County
Commission has refused our request for an opportunity to give
the
ratepayers of Fulton County a choice. Their lack of action is
discouraging and presents a huge problem for the million plus
customers of our water system, 40% of whom don't live in the
city of
Atlanta."
The Mayor continued, "This also complicates our effort
to make our
case for support at the state and federal level."
