CITY RELEASES CITIZEN SATISFACTION SURVEY END-OF-YEAR REPORT

Mayor Shirley Franklin released today the Citizens Satisfaction Survey End of Year Report. The report is a compilation of the quarterly surveys conducted by the Carl Vinson Institute at the University of Georgia to gauge the level of satisfaction with city services among city residents.

Mayor Franklin said, "The responses we receive in these surveys have been extremely useful to us as we move forward with our efforts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of City services. I am grateful to those people willing to spend twenty minutes on the phone to provide us input on our services."

"The message from this report is that we have a lot of work to do to improve our services. While we have made progress in some areas, I am particularly concerned with the fact that many of our residents are unsatisfied with the quality of our police protection. I am hopeful that by adding another 100 officers to the force this year we can continue to improve public safety and ultimately the public's impression of the job we are doing", said Mayor Franklin.

The Citizen Satisfaction Survey is conducted every three months and includes responses from 600 randomly selected Atlanta residents. The end of year report provides breakdowns of survey responses by council district.

The Citizen Satisfaction Survey End of Year Report is available in the Government News & Updates section on the City's homepage or at: http://www.atlantaga.gov/Mayor/SpecialReports.aspx.
