YMCA Property
This Priority-1 status property is located in southwest Atlanta. It is heavily vegetated with a variety of plant species. Due to the curvature of South Utoy Creek as it travels through this property, preservation of this property allows for the protection of a large amount of stream frontage and protects a portion of the floodplain. The acquisition of this property for the Greenway Acquisition Project was strongly supported by Neighborhood Planning Unit-R (NPU-R), which is a citizen advisory committee that makes recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on zoning, land use, and other planning issues in this part of the city.
