Located in a residential area on Margaret Mitchell
Drive in northwest Atlanta, this conservation easement acquisition
will protect Peachtree Creek from pollutants and sediments that
wash into the creek from impervious surfaces, such as concrete or
asphalt. The Greenway Acquisition Project will protect properties
from being developed near rivers and streams, which will reduce
the amount of impervious surface in the watershed. This acquisition
adds another link to the connected series of greenway properties
with a 100-foot wide protective buffer along Peachtree Creek.
