Teague Property
The Teague property acquisition is the first on Sweetwater Creek, and represents an exciting beginning for this stream segment. This acquisition is comprised of over 23 acres of property now protected by the Atlanta Greenway Acquisition Project. The vegetation on the property is comprised of large hardwood trees and several wetland areas. The curvature of Sweetwater Creek also results in an exceptional amount of stream frontage which will be protected. As the Metropolitan Atlanta region continues to grow, the surrounding areas continue to experience development pressure. This acquisition is an example of how the City of Atlanta can protect greenspace and create green buffer areas along streams before the adjacent land is developed.
