Norton Property T
his property was ideal for acquisition under the Greenway Acquisition
Project because it is a vacant, Priority-1 status property, with
mature forest vegetation and an approximately 100-foot wide floodplain.
This property was also desired for acquisition because it is located
adjacent to another Greenway Property, the Swann Preserve (the southern
Swallow Circle property boundary is a shared boundary with the Swann
Preserve property). Acquisition of
adjacent properties is an important component of the Greenway Acquisition
Project because connectivity allows for greater protection of Metro
Atlanta streams through the establishment of greenway corridors
that not only add to number of linear streamside feet protected,
but overall stability of the protected area.
