Reid Property
Driving on Peachtree Street through the busy streets of Buckhead, one might not notice the bridge that crosses over Peachtree Creek. Beneath the activity above, the City of Atlanta acquired a conservation easement on the Reid property, located in a residential area of northwest Atlanta. The acquisition will protect approximately 230 feet of the stream bank from potentially harmful pollutants along this segment of Peachtree Creek. A vegetated getaway within the bustling Buckhead neighborhood, the Reid property acquisition is an example of how successful coordination with property owners can result in beneficial results for water quality in Atlanta.
