Jones Property
The Jones Property, a priority-1 status Greenway Property, is located in a residential area on Wells Drive, south of Campbellton Road in southwest Atlanta. This 100-foot buffer of land is partially located within the 100-year floodplain. Although less than 1 acre was purchased in this acquisition, the Jones property continues to build connectivity along South Utoy Creek and contributes to the growing number of protected stream footage in this segment of the creek. A linear protected streamside corridor creates a more stable habitat for plants and animals and encourages movement and diversity of plant and wildlife species. This acquisition is also an example of how small property owners can help preserve water quality in their own neighborhoods.
