This greenway acquisition is comprised of a conservation easement of the floodplain portion of four properties. The combined total acquired acreage of the protected area is approximately 25 acres and will permanently protect approximately 1,860 feet of stream bank along Sweetwater Creek. Several wetland areas are also located on theses properties and are permanently protected by this acquisition. The large acreage of this easement purchase makes it a significant addition to the corridor of protected streamside greenspace properties that the City of Atlanta is building along Sweetwater Creek in Cobb County. Whether it provides connectivity, improved wildlife habitat or water quality, every greenway property has its own unique features to contribute to the City of Atlanta Greenway Acquisition Project.
