Henley Property
This Priority-1 acquired Greenway Property is located in a residential area in northwest Atlanta, near several other properties protected by the Greenway Acquisition Project. Protecting properties on both sides of Peachtree Creek or continuously along the creek is especially desirable from an ecological standpoint. The connected corridor of greenspace creates a more suitable habitat for plants and animals and enhances water quality of the stream. Vegetation in the protected stream corridor and floodplain aids in the filtration of pollutants from stormwater, and helps prevent flooding downstream. This acquisition is an ideal example of how a neighborhood can work together to protect water quality in their community.
