Hartrampf
Property
The rolling terrain on the Hartrampf property offers
more than just scenic value. Civil War experts believe that the
hills were was once used during the Battle of Utoy Creek, where
troops fought from trenches located in the hills and valleys surrounding
the Hartrampf property. In addition to its historical significance,
this greenway property acquisition will protect approximately 135
feet of the Utoy Creek stream bank. Characterized by mature hardwood
trees and lush native understory vegetation, protection of this
property from development will help prevent the damaging effects
of erosion and sedimentation, while retaining the historical integrity
of this segment of Utoy Creek.
