Gibson Property
The Gibson property is a residential parcel located in the Cascade Heights neighborhood on Flamingo Drive, in southwest Atlanta. Although less than one acre was purchased in this acquisition, the Gibson property contributes to the growing number of protected stream footage in this segment of North Utoy Creek, including the nearby Young Harris College property. A connected series of vegetated greenway properties acts as a natural stream buffer that filters sediments and pollutants. Regardless of the acreage, the Gibson property acquired by the City of Atlanta is a meaningful contribution to the protection of water resources in the community.
