Gabrielson
Property
The Gabrielson property acquisition will protect approximately
116 feet of Peachtree Creek. Located in northwest Atlanta, recent
property acquisitions along Ridgemore Road and nearby Margaret Mitchell
Drive will be contributing factors to the improved water quality
and health of the creek. This Priority-1 Greenway Acquisition will
protect vegetation within a minimum 100-foot conservation easement
of the creek. Vegetation along the stream bank is left undisturbed
in a conservation easement, which acts as a protective buffer against
pollutants that could potentially harm sensitive water resources.
In addition to the water quality benefits, conservation easements
allow the owner to retain their private property rights.
