Water Conservation Workshops

Learn how to reduce your water use and save money!

Through December 2004, the Department of Watershed Management will present a series of workshops including:

- U-Fix-IT !(Minor Plumbing Repairs) – Available to your community or organization upon request.

Conservation methods and recommendations for reducing water usage will be discussed. Hands-on demonstrations for leak detection and simple toilet and faucet repairs will be presented. We will distribute free, Department of Watershed Management water-saver devices and provide sources for water saver devices for those who want to do more.

- Free Xeriscaping/Waterwise Landscape Workshop – May – August, 2004

Learn how to have a beautiful landscape and protect the environment at the same time. From June through August, we will provide free, one-on-one instruction in Xeriscaping, a technique that helps conserve water while providing attractive, low maintenance landscaping for homeowners.

A “Xeriscape consultant” will visit your home and make recommendations on how to create a beautiful landscape that can also save you money on your water bill! The site visit takes about 1 hour. Call 404 330-6801 to schedule an appointment.
