General Information
The Atlanta City Council unanimously approved a water and
sewer rate increase, effective January 9, 2004. The rate increase
enables the continued success of Clean Water Atlanta by providing
adequate funding for the City to meet its legal and environmental
clean water obligations. The success of Clean Water Atlanta
lays the foundation for the economic rejuvenation of our City.
The new rate structure has several new features:
1. A 3-tiered
structure to encourage and reward water conservation.
2. A minimum charge
for water-sewer service.
3. A Homeland Security surcharge
added to all bills.
4. A Low Income Senior
Citizen discount for those seniors who meet the eligibility
requirements.
